About Nur uz-Zamaan Institute

Nur uz-Zamaan is one of the honorific nicknames given to Shaykh (Shehu) Uthman Dan Fodiyo, may Allah envelop him in His mercy, Ameen!

It means "Light of the Age"

- and that he was!

This institute is named after him and operates based upon his methodology (Minhaj) to help elucidate Scholars of Ahlul Sunnah Wal Jamaa'ah from among us (Black People) and others who did their best to revive the Sunnah of our Beloved, Prophet Muhammad, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, to the people.

To cure this disease of self-hatred is to have knowledge of self that which Allah has commanded us to learn in Surah Hujurat 49:13-

"O mankind, indeed We have created you from male and female and made you peoples and tribes that you may know one another. Indeed, the most noble of you in the sight of Allah is the most righteous of you. Indeed, Allah is Knowing and Aware."

When we learn about ourselves (our history), we will be well informed about our divine right to gain closeness to our Creator the Most High without being subjugated by others to do so.
